GOODOAK and OWL - 7 Generations
Ed Goodoak and Paul Searching Owl perform original songs with a Native American
Message. These are drawn from various tribal traditions, with a strong influence of the
Rainbow Warrior Path. Goodoak and Owl have been creating music together for five years. Peter is of Mohawk and Italian decent. He carries a degree in music from the University of Massachusetts. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Elders for the Dighton Tribal Council and holds a position on the Board of Elders for the Mohawk Trail. Ed has been a songwriter for many years and has always had a deep respect for the wisdom and beauty of the Natural World. We are different, and we are the same, and as Warriors of the Rainbow, we are caretakers of the earth and must wisely manage the finite resources that are temporarily ours. We must design systems so that all can share, including future generations. We must hold the Land, the Air, and the Water sacred. We must treat the Four-footed ones, the Finned ones, the Winged ones, the Standing ones (the Trees), the Plants and Insects and all diversity of Life with Love and Respect. But most of all we must Respect and Love one another as the Creator, who gave us all Life and everything that we have, surely Loves us all. When the Councils of Elders makes an important decision, they must consider how that decision will effect the next "7 Generations". We pray for all our leaders to do the same. Please accept these Songs in the Spirit of our Love and always carry Peace in your Heart Goodoak and Owl 1997 |
